I am Tīna, Hamburg based violinist and songwriter. I grew up in Latvia where I learned to play the violin and to love choir music.

I am not tied to any particular music genre, it is in flux, I love cross-over. The music I write reflects the experiences I have been through, music I have played and listened to - over the years. I move around in improvised spaces, anchor to traditional Baltic folklore, I hear jazz when I dream and my heart rushes in heavy rock beats.

Since the last 7 years I also work with singing groups and choirs. Singing together can be an empowering and very uplifting experience and I try to establish and hold spaces that don’t focus only on achievement but on the overall common experience instead.
